John Anderson | Head Coach
Nationally renowned as one of the best collegiate coaches in the country. Coach Anderson recently completed his 36th year at the helm of the Golden Gopher baseball Program. He holds a B1G career record of 1,124-748-3 and holds the all-time B1G wins record with 506 victories. Anderson has led the Gophers to nine regular season Big Ten titles and nine Big Ten Tournament titles, to accompany his 17 visits to the NCAA Tournament. A living legend who will go down as one of the greatest coaches of all-time.
Ty McDevitt | Assistant Coach
Ty McDevitt is in his third season as the Pitching Coach for the Golden Gophers after an outstanding career in which he appeared in over 50+ games, went 11-4 with a posted a 3.68 ERA in 4 seasons in the Maroon & Gold. McDevitt already has a successful pedigree and background in working with pitchers being skilled in biomechanics and kinesiology apart from working with the states top amateur players at his privately owned business, "The Cages". McDevitt is also the Director and Manager of NorthStar Baseball Club.
Patrick Casey | Assistant Coach
Packy enters his sixth season in Gold Country, the young Casey comes to Minnesota as an Assistant Coach after spending time with St. Thomas and the hitting coach at Butler University. Casey was selected to attend MLB Scout School and spent time scouting with the Minnesota Twins. Casey was the Northwoods League Coach of the Year for the Waterloo Bucks in 2013. Packy is currently the hitting coach for the Gophers and works with the catchers.
Lee Swenson | Director of Operations
Swede begins his 21st season with the Golden Gopher Baseball program and his fifth season as the Director of Operations. In his previous 12 seasons, he was the Gophers' volunteer coach until taking the operations position in 2010. While the volunteer coach, Swede primarily worked with the catchers during the season.
Brandon Hunt | Director of Camps
Brandon Hunt joined the Gopher Coaching staff in the summer of 2018 and will serve as the Director of Camps for MBIS. Hunt has 13 years of coaching experiences at various levels and carries a reputation as one of the top recruiters and finest defensive coaches in the Midwest. Hunt came to the University of Minnesota after serving as the Head Coach of Division II Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA. At Upper Iowa, Hunt elevated the Peacocks into an annual contender in the highly competitive NSIC, winning 36 games in two seasons including over 30 conference victories. His teams finished in the upper echelon of the Northern Sun in fielding percentage, including a pair of players selected to the NSIC Gold Glove team during his tenure. Hunt's teams also excelled in the classroom, finishing both 2017 and 2018 with a team GPA over 3.0. Before arriving in Fayette, Hunt served as an assistant coach for Augustana (S.D.) University for four seasons, earning a promotion to lead assistant and recruiting coordinator after two years as a volunteer on head coach Tim Huber's staff. During his stay in Sioux Falls, five different Vikings earned All-NSIC honors while a program-record four infielders earned selections to the NSIC's Gold Glove Team. Hunt also played a major role in the development of Augustana's Jack Goihl, an All-American selection and 2015 MLB Draft pick by the Cleveland organization.
