Advanced Winter Pitching Program (NEW!)

Gopher Baseball Camps will be holding a pitching program for any and all players aged 11 - 18 on November 9, 2025 - February, 2026 on select dates. This intensive 13 week program is exclusively tailored for dedicated pitchers looking to enhance their skill set over the course of the winter months. Run by current Gopher Pitching Coach, Alec Crawford, this program features pitching instruction designed to focus on advanced pitching metrics for immediate improvement heading into the spring season.

The high school winter pitching program (ages 14-18) is a return to throwing program which increases volume and intensity over the duration of the 12 week program to prepare athletes arms and body for the rigors of the 2026 competition season. Athletes will implement and improve on the following weekly:

  • Warm Up & Arm Care Activation Protocols including soft tissue mobilization & return to throw
  • In depth video analysis to understand the biomechanics of the throwing delivery
  • Plyometric lower half explosiveness and arm speed training
  • Slow motion video analysis
  • Bullpen Sessions weekly w/ Trackman pitch design & development

The youth winter pitching program (ages 11-13) is also a return to throwing program which increases volume and intensity over the duration of the 12 week program. This 12 week course is designed to teach youth athletes how to move properly while also teaching them how to take care of their arms appropriately as they begin to create routines for development into higher levels of baseball. Program features include:

  • Warm Up & Arm Care Activation Protocols
  • Introduction to PlyoCare balls and arm patterning drills
  • Plyometric lower half explosiveness and arm speed training
  • Video analysis of the biomechanics and proper movement patterns of elite level athletes
  • Slow motion video analysis
  • Progression from dry mechanics to bullpen work w/ and intro to pitch design development

Overall program features include an emphasis on:

  • Understanding and implementation of movement of elite level pitchers
  • Explosive training and repetition for top level movement
  • Return to throw program - long toss and arm pattern efficiency
  • Velocity development
  • Pitch design with technology such as Trackman Baseball
  • Pick off & pitcher fielding practice - game awareness teachings
  • Recovery Protocols - understanding how to optimize performance

Athletes must bring their baseball equipment (tennis shoes, cleats, baseball glove, etc). Gopher Baseball Staff will be providing instruction and feedback to athletes throughout the duration of the program. Gopher Baseball Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender.

Tentative Schedule of Events:

Warm Up & Activation
Video analysis & Movement Pattern work (specific to that day)
Long toss catch play
Mound work (med balls, smash balls, pvc pipe, towel drills, bullpen w/ Trackman)
Recovery Work / Closing
